Gatwick Airport to Hammersmith
Gatwick Airport to Hammersmith
Gatwick Airport is around 29 miles (48 km) south of London.
There is no single best way to travel between Gatwick and London, there is the cheapest, fastest etc, but no best option for everyone.
There is the variety of rail, bus and taxi transport options for passengers. However, rail is twice as fast as the roads with the convenience of Gatwick train station being in the South Terminal.
There is no direct Motorway link to London, more of a semi circle using the M20, M25 and M4 motorways, taking you clockwise, south to west London and onto the centre via Hammersmith. Direct roads between Gatwick and London wind through a maze of villages and suburbs with traffic lights and roundabouts making for an arduous stop, start journey.
In general road transfers involve buses and are best for groups, people with plenty of time, and those where low cost is a priority. If used off-peak, at night or in the early morning, journey times are greatly reduced.
To make a decision on which option is best for you, you first need to take all the various factors into consideration.
